I've had a crush on Dermot since he was in The Thing Called Love, where he was a mean-bass-playing-country-song-writing-cowboy-hat-wearing Nashville transplant from Connecticut, battling it out with River Phoenix for Samantha Mathis' affections. Tough call, Samantha. Does anyone else love that movie as much as I do? And who didn't love him in My Best Friends Wedding? (Well, Sara preferred him in The Wedding Date.) And now, I love him in New Girl, where he plays Zooey-Deschanel-wooing-fancyman Russell.
Plus he has a great head of hair. And a slight, but very charming, twang. And a great smile. And a cool name.
