Since its launch in October 2010, Instagram rapidly replaced Twitter as our favorite time-waster. The popular social media platform that people buzzed about being the "new Facebook" will now be the new Facebook. According to The Wall Street Journal, Facebook is set to buy Instagram for $1 billion in cash and stock! Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, announced it himself with a post on his Facebook page, post that got nearly 100,000 likes! However, according to some finance experts, the buy-out is a risk and not a smart one as Instagram is only 2 years old with no real profit, revenue and only 13 employees (via Bloomberg News). Perhaps celebrity is the new "location location location" economic value for today, which Instagram is sort of that incubator for such a business venture?
