Matthew Stephen Ward, better known as plain old M. Ward, appeared on Conan O'Brien's show last night, where he performed "Primitive Girl" from the just-released A Wasteland Companion. Ward's solo work sans Zooey Deschanel has always been supremely well crafted and this is no exception. "Primitive Girl" feels like a slice of Dylan-and-the-Band tributary, but few people can pull that off as well as Ward can, as he demonstrates in the clip below.
