Good news, friends! FOX has announced they will be bringing back their fabulous freshman series, New Girl, for a second season. That's not too surprising, since the Golden Globe®-nominated series has been doing pretty well for FOX. According to the FOX press release pertaining to the New Girl renewal, New Girl was the #1 new series among Adults 18-34 and the #2 new scripted series among Adults 18-49 this season. Thank goodness, because we are loving the series so far! Sadly, there are just a few episodes of the first season left. But, it's good to know the funny series will return in the Fall.
Last week, on "Secrets," Nick proved that his reputation for not being able to keep a secret is spot on. After poor Winston could no longer keep Schmidt's and Cece's secret, he told Nick, whose back began sweating profusely. Apparently that's Nick's "tell" so Jess immediately knew he and Winston were keeping a secret. After about 2-seconds of questioning, Nick divulged that Cece has been sleeping with Schmidt. Jess was furious that her best friend had kept such a secret. She was also furious when she found out that they had gotten busy in every single room in the loft, including Jess's room. Jess was even more hurt when she found out Cece is the one that started the fling with Schmidt. Cece told Jess that it's not the first secret she has kept from her, since Jess is always judgmental. Jess's feeling were hurt.
Jess told the guys they could keep no more secrets, until they all confessed that they had thought of her when they were masturbating. Jess immediately decided they needed to go back to keeping secrets! Jess and Cece still ran in the charity 10K race they had planned to run in, even though Jess was still mad – they just ran separately. But, when she stopped by for water, Jess found out that Cece had laughed at Schmidt's dorky "See Cece Run" personalized t-shirt. At that, Jess ran as fast as she could to catch up with Cece. She informed her bestie that it had to be more than just sex with Schmidt, because only a woman in love would have laughed at that dorky shirt. Cece realized that this was true, but back at the apartment Schmidt made a comment about it being just about sex. Cece didn't say anything, but we could tell that she was a little disappointed that he was still thinking of them just in that way.
On tonight's New Girl, "Normal," Jess invites Russell to spend the weekend with her and the guys at the loft. And, Winston moves on from his babysitting job, and meets one of his heroes.
