Favorite movie and why?
This is such a difficult question because I love movies, but Donnie Darko is definitely the best movie I have ever seen. It is a unique and brilliant work of science-fiction that is thought provoking and mesmerizing. Watch it if you haven't seen it, you won't regret it.
Best date you've ever been on?
I find dating to be exciting, but also extremely stressful, so I approach it with modesty and simplicity. For example, when I was in high school I took a girl Burlington, Vermont and we spent the day walking around the city and talking to each other about random nonsense. We got Ben & Jerry's, went into a number of trendy shops and at the end of the day we sat and watched the sun set over Lake Champlain. We enjoyed each other's company without the pressures of fine dining or group dating. It was a simple and cool way to get to know her and we both had fun.
Biggest Turn on with a girl?
Besides the obvious physical turn-ons, I am attracted to a woman who is intelligent and has a good sense of humor. A girl who is witty and can make me laugh is fascinating. I also value a woman who is confident and hardworking; there is something sexy about a girl who knows what she wants and will work hard to achieve her goals.
Biggest Turn off:
Women who are loud and obnoxious are really irritating. I tend to be more of an introvert so I have difficulty associating myself with individuals who are flamboyant and over-the-top. Though I like a woman who is confident, excessive cockiness is also a turn off. While it is important to believe in oneself, it is also necessary to be humble by nature.
Celebrity Crush and why?
Zooey Deschanel. She is beautiful, talented and seems to have an awesome personality. I've been in love with her since I watched "500 Days of Summer." My friends always compare me to Schmidt from Zooey's show "New Girl." I also wouldn't mind getting to know Emma Watson….
Future Career Goals/Ambitions?
I intend to continue my success academically and graduate at the top of my class at Suffolk in 2014 with a degree in Biochemistry. I will then pursue my dream of becoming a Pediatrician by attending medical school in California. After I achieve all of my individual goals, I look forward to being a dedicated husband and a loving father. Ultimately, I want to enjoy the little things in life, maintain close relationships with my family and friends, and be a positive influence on others. I have a tattoo on my left ribcage that reads "Be the change you wish to see in the world" and I aim to live every day of my life by that mantra. Hobbies/Interests:
Sports – I follow sports religiously (especially the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics and Dallas Cowboys) and ESPN is always on my television. I was a three sport athlete in high school (soccer, basketball and baseball) so I also enjoy participating in any sort of sporting event with my friends. I go to the gym frequently and run along the Charles on the Esplanade whenever the weather permits.
Music – I am constantly reading music blogs and attending concerts. Some of my favorite bands/artists include Radiohead, Burial, Jamie xx, Caribou, Bon Iver, MGMT, Kanye West, OFWGKTA and Animal Collective. This summer I will be attending the Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal as well as my first Radiohead show. There is nothing like seeing a band live and immersing yourself in the beauty of their art with hundreds of strangers who are united by a love for music.
Shopping – I work at Urban Outfitters on Newbury St. and I admit that I have a weak spot for using my employee discount on clothes that I don't need.
Nutrition – In addition to working out, I am extremely health conscious. Vegetables, fruits and vitamins are an essential part of my daily diet. I don't drink soda, eat fried food, fast food or drink beer. I attempt to eliminate all unhealthy foods from my diet in the same manner that I refrain from engaging in unhealthy practices in my life.
Most embarrassing moment:
I have a terrible time remembering people's names so I always get embarrassed when I forget someone's name who remembers mine, or if I blatantly call someone by the wrong name.
3 things you would bring with you to a deserted island?
I would bring enough clean drinking water to last me the rest of my life (because I'll die without fresh water!), a toothbrush with toothpaste (because good dental hygiene is essential!) and a guitar (because I'll finally have enough free time to learn how to play it!).
Best part about your Suffolk experience so far?
Over spring break I traveled with other Suffolk students to Gulfport, Mississippi to work with Habitat for Humanity. It was honestly one of the most rewarding experiences in my life and I appreciate Suffolk University for giving me the opportunity to spend my spring break working with a group of caring individuals. I strongly recommend Alternative Spring Break to any Suffolk student who is looking to make a difference.
What's an interesting fact about you most people don't know?
I love going to the movies by myself. Some people think it's strange, but I find it invigorating to watch a movie alone at the theater. At college it is so easy to get caught up in what other people are doing and lose track of who you are, especially if you are living in the residence halls where people are always everywhere doing something. I make it a point in my life to do some things independently in order to reinforce my individualism. At this point in my life the pursuit of personal happiness and independence, rather than collective goals or interests, is my main priority.
Most romantic thing you've done for a girl/women?
I was in a relationship with this girl, so for Valentine's Day I got creative and decorated the walls of my room with red and pink paper. On the pieces of paper I wrote one thing that I loved about her. For example, on one piece of paper I wrote "I love how you always wear the same grey cardigan," and on another I wrote "I love the thought of a future with you." I literally covered every inch of space with paper, and wrote a different fact on each piece, so it was quite a process. I took her out for a romantic dinner in the North End that evening and when we returned to my room she was pleasantly surprised.
