Modern Family's Sofia Vergara took the stage last night on Saturday Night Live for her hosting debut. Among the highlights of the episode was a Hunger Games parody, which they saved for the end for some reason, and the return of "Drunk Uncle" to Weekend Update.
Vergara proved she could do a decent Fran Drescher impersonation in the "Bein' Quirky with Zooey Deschanel" sketch, which also had Kristen Wiig doing a pretty great impersonation of her Whip It co-star Drew Barrymore. Speaking of Wiig, in a bit of randomness, Gilly returned to start up trouble in Sex Ed class. And finally, I found the "Almost Pizza" sketch bizarrely amusing, and enjoyed what I'm pretty sure was a nod to Terminator 2. You'll find those sketches below along with both musical performances by boy-band One Direction.
