Bangs are one of the most polarizing of hairstyles. People tend to either love them or hate them. And there are so many ways to wear them: Blunt or sideswept, thick or wispy, long or short.
Some celebrities have dared to step out on the red carpet with fringe, most recently country starlet Taylor Swift. Other stars have tried them and ditched them (Rachel Bilson, Katy Perry) and others have stuck with them for a long time (Zooey Deschanel, Rooney Mara).

The "Hunger Games" star got bangs just in time for her big promotional tour for the movie.
Taylor Swift
It seems like the songtress, usually the epitome of girly, is going for a mature look with bangs and straightened hair.
Zooey Deschanel
It's hard to imagine a time when Deschanel didn't have her thick, blunt bangs, but apparently there was such a time. Her forehead looks naked without them.
Rooney Mara
Mara has been pulling off the short cropped bangs ever since "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo."
Reese Witherspoon
Reese's bangs are perfectly dishelved and compliment the rest of her choppy layers.
