We have a big ol' girl crush on Zooey Deschanel. Not only can she pull off bangs like nobody's business, she also owned the Golden Globes red carpet in a custom Prada number. This is why it pains us to find out that she was bullied in school.
Deschanel covers the May issue of Marie Claire, and she told the mag that her chubbiness caused her to be a target for the mean girls:
"I was ridiculed," she says. The low point came when a mean girl spit in her face. "I really don't know why she spit at me," Deschanel says. "I just talked to her. I guess I wasn't allowed to talk to her. I remember I couldn't believe it."
We can't believe it either. But Deschanel has put the bullies behind her: "I don't even know where they are now." So to further rub it in her bullies' faces, check out Deschanel's spread below:
