So I finally took the plunge and dyed my hair!! I've been wanting ombre hair for the past two years, the first time I went to the hairdressers and asked, they didn't know what I was on about. Weep. However, two years later, after looking to
LLYMLRS and
Zoella for inspiration with their DIY Ombre posts, I decided I was going to do it myself.

I'm sure you all know what ombre hair involves…dark at the top and gradually getting lighter towards the bottom, as seen on the likes of Rachel Bilson, Alexa Chung and countless other A list ladies.
I get quite bored with my hair, as it's just so long and so brown. You may remember earlier this year, I got a fringe cut in a la Zooey Deschanel. It's starting to grow out so I thought I'd try something a bit more summery, so I was set on ombre.
I used
Loreal Perfect Blonde Crème highlighting kit from Boots, which cost around £6, you need to use bleach rather than blonde hair dye, or the colour just won't lift! I slapped some dye on the ends of my hair and waited about 10-15 minutes before washing off (my hair is pretty dark naturally), then repeated this a little further down my hair to create the gradient :) it really is as easy as that. I like that you don't have to worry about being precise because this look is all about being a bit messy.
It was surprisingly easy, and I'm really pleased, and a little surprised, at how well the end result came out! I'm feeling a lot more summery already! :)
