Siri has been making some famous friends lately. First, she helped Samuel L. Jackson prepare for a date, and then she hung out with Zooey Deschanel on a rainy day. Now she's made another A-list buddy.
John Malkovich may be known for his starring roles in The Killing Fields and Being John Malkovich, but his latest role sees him getting philosophical with Siri.
Malkovich appears, smartly dressed, lounging around in a comfy chair. Apparently bored, he chats to Siri about the weather, fine cuisine and the meaning of life.
In the first ad, Life, Malkovich and Siri hang out and philosophise. He seems to be impressed by Siri's opinion that for a happy life we should read good books and take a walk once in a while. Wise words, indeed.
For the second ad, the two natter away about the weather and the best place for linguica sausage, before Malkovich asks Siri to tell him a joke. She forgets the punchline, but still manages to get a laugh out of Malkovich. He tells her that she's eloquent and seems to have a twinkle in his eye. Is Malkovich developing a crush on Siri?
Malkovich isn't the only one who has a thing for Siri, her previous ads have all won her a large number of fans. These, by TBWA/Media Arts Labs, are no different. Life has won over 227,000 views and nearly 1,000 shares in just two days. Joke has done even better, garnering over 262,000 views and over 1,100 shares.
She might not be able to tell a joke, but she certainly knows how to make a good ad.
