Quotes as "Hawaii's answer to Sundance.", the 2012 Maui Film Festival will be held June 13th – 17th at the Wailea Resort and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Movie goers can choose from 35 screenings including People Like Us starring Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks, this years festival recipient of the Navigator Award.
Over the years, the Maui Film Festival has screened more than 500 films. Many celebrity guests have joined in the festivities including Adrien Brody, Pierce Brosnan, Tim Burton, Claire Danes, Zooey Deschanel, Clint Eastwood, Zac Efron, Andrew Garfield, Jake Gyllenhaal, Woody Harrelson, Mike Myers, Dennis Quaid and Owen Wilson, and many others.
Festival culinary events include a Twilight Reception ($125) at Capische? on Wednesday, June 13 at 5:30 p.m, the Taste of Chocolate ($125) at Four Seasons Resort Maui Wailea on Friday, June 15 at 10 p.m., the Taste of Wailea ($120) at David Leadbetter Golf Academy on Saturday, June 16 at 4:30 p.m., and the Sunday Starry Night MoonDance ($75) at Mulligans on the Blue on Sunday, June 17 at 10 p.m.
