New Girl is kind of like a TV show for people who don't want to admit that they like romcoms. It's quirky enough to not be stereotypically girly and cheesy, but it's dramatic enough to keep our attention.
It definitely takes a few episodes to actually get into it though. Jess (Zooey Deschanel) kind of pissed me off in the beginning because some of the things she did were just so…like ????
But she definitely went from the aggravating nuisance who just made me horribly impatient to a more adorkably quirky, likable character. The premise of the show is risky–a girl living with three single guys can easily turn into a cliche harem party. But it's staying off that path (thankfully).
Also, it's actually really funny. Honestly, Schmidt is so freaking hilarious that his comments alone are enough to keep me watching the show. I actually can't wait for Season 2!
