…above all [the Internet] has fanned the movement for democratic change in countries whose inhabitants used to be hobbled by the fear that they were alone. The web enabled them to reach out, find support at home and abroad, and muster the courage to overthrow their tyrants. It helped them bring in the promise, at least, of a brighter dawn. Ask a young Egyptian, Tunisian or Libyan to name the greatest invention, and they might well choose the world wide web.

So, according to Intelligent Life, the web is the greatest invention

Well, if these search terms are anything to go by… of course it is! The Internet is there for you, no matter what time of the day, no matter how strange the request. IMDB and Wikipedia (the source of all knowledge), forums dedicated to Sherlock theorists and their academic studies, and a photo gallery of cats that look like Hitler. For when you need a break from the intensity.

And just sometimes, the odd search engine may send you our way… Thank you, 360° Review readers. Thank you for being so weird.

360° Search Referrals

fassbender full frontal; I love this one. Whoever this person is, they don't waste time, and I like to imagine that they shout absolutely every thought that enters their mind. "Google search! Fassbender! Full frontal!".

film dirty jack; This blog was not what you were searching for, was it? Go and clear your internet history before someone works out the real reason.

british word for awards; I wonder if this individual realises that "British" is not exactly a language and we, over in Britain, call it "English". I do hope that there are people out there who believe that England is chock full of pure Dickensian whimsy and Mr-Darcy-style drama.

avengers guy with eye patch; Seriously? SERIOUSLY? "Avengers guy with eye patch"? Get. Out. NOW.

lesbian in love!; It's not the search term, it's not the cute little sentiment. It's not even the unnecessary exclamation mark. It's that three different people have searched for this, and ended up here. I plan to now use exclamation marks at every available opportunity. Lesbians! Yay!

the pirate who likes sunsets and kittens; In the context of The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists!, this makes sense. Take that away, and it is madness. Cute, fluffy madness from the mind of Zooey Deschanel.

virginia madsen in bondage; Not even this can save The Number 23. It is, however, really, really hilarious. This aside for a minute, I am worried that your first port of call when it comes to 'adult entertainment' is Jim Carrey. There is therapy for that.

is there any connection between the hunger games and julius caesar?; If this is what it takes to get young people interested in classical studies, let's hear a massive resounding "hurrah" for teen fiction!

billy bob thornton movie in speedos and raincoat; Proof that the internet caters for all kinds of secret desires and weird fetishes. However, even I (of all people) judge you on this particular one. Hang on… is this what popular search engines think that The 360° Review is about? Kinky Billy Bob Thornton photos?

the pirtes in a avensher with sitets; The "award" for worst spelling ever seen on the internet goes to… this guy. I'm not questioning how someone could mistake scientist for "sitets", I am questioning how they even managed to turn on a computer.

worth of the titans 2012; Ironic joke, or bad typo?
