I've never really been a fan of the French Manicure. If I'm honest I always thought it was a little boring. I've been experimenting with various patterns and colours before to make it just that little bit more interesting. Taking inspiration from a cute mint spring manicure that Zooey Deschanel sported, I added a few other lovely pastel shades to make my own little version of the manicure.
For the base I originally used Model Own Nyla Nude but then thought it was a bit too dark. The search for my perfect nude nail polish is still on going, I suppose I'm really just looking for a shade that matches my own skin tone. To bring the Nyla Nude down a few shades I added about three coats of Avon's Nailwear Pro in Vanilla Shake. Although Vanilla Shake is a lovely light nude shade, it's one of those nail polishes that requires multiple coats to achieve even coverage.
Finally, for the tips I used Models Own Pastel Pink, Lilac Dream, Feeling Blue, Jade Stone and Lemon Meringue.
Anyone else tried to create their own unique manicures? Did you use any crazy colours or cool patterns?
