So last night after drinking all day on the rooftop I basically melted into my couch while watching Adventureland, and right before I drifted off into a 15-hour slumber I realized that after like 8 years of Kristen Stewart, I still don't know where I stand. It's really frustrating and like, I'm over this internal battle, I just want to be able to make a definitive answer already. Zooey Deschanel- no. Alexandra Chando- yes. Michelle WIlliams- no. Kate Winslet- yes. Kristen Stewart- question mark.
On the one hand I totally dislike her. Her fashion choices are blasphemous and downright fug; the clothes never even fit her, like actual size wise. And that hair, obtuse disarray and slicked back are not the only two looks around- please stop making them yours. She is without a doubt one of the least skilled actresses out there, and Kristen and RobP's performances single handedly killed Twilight. Which although childish, was an entertaining read.
Weirdly enough though, putting everything aside I still manage to love her. And I don't know why. Perhaps it's because a lot of people don't like her. And, not only am I not that trendy, but anyone one that rubs so many people the wrong way has to be somewhat rad. (Except for Puck.) Kristen, underneath all of the aged scowls actually has a really symmetrical face and the capacity to be pretty in a vintage Lake Bell/Amanda Pete'y kind of way. And alright, I guess if she enlisted a proper stylist, both hair and wardrobe, she could maybe then live up to her Elle UK Title of "Best Dressed," which was a seriously delusional aspirational win for her. I"m kind of stoked about On the Road, and well, despite how awful I know Breaking Dawn part 2 will be, I can't wait to see it…
I guess there's only one thing left to do. Stop fake hating, and admit that I'm pro-Kristen. Yes. But then again I also really love Miley, so I'm pretty sure I don't count.
