I truly am. Remember when it first came out? The characters weren't really developed and the jokes were more forced than natural. I think the only reason I watched it was because of Zooey Deschanel and her impeccable wardrobe. Other than that it was just one of those ridiculous things you watch to get away from reality. Turns out a lot of people didn't like the show much either. I felt really bad because all the backlash it was getting for the reasons I listed above. I was like, C
ome on, Zooey! Turn on that charm. And Schmidt, you have so much potential with your ridiculous personality. Then things started turning around in the episode
Cece Crashes. This is the episode where we see the beginning of tension between Jess and Nick and really begin to ship them together. For me, that's when I began to start to get interested in the show. From there on out, the roommates developed in character and started to grow on you. Jess is adorable yet embarrassing, honest, the one who tries to make everyone cheerful, and has the most heart. Schmidt (one of my favorites) is the typical lady's man who has an impeccable taste for fashion, style, and comfort and consistently flirts with Cece. Nick, the man who joys us with his turtle face is the opposite of Schmidt, someone who dropped out of law school because he's trying to find happiness; he's often times sloppy and settles for convenience rather than comfort. Winston is the practical one, he balances out the crazy vibes that his roommates bring into the loft. What I really like about this show is that, like Modern Family, things don't end up perfectly. There is always a twist that makes what is supposed to be a perfect moment, an imperfect moment albeit memorable and in the end, making the relationship between the roommates stronger. As the show progressed, not only has the tension between Nick and Jess become much more powerful, the roommates as a whole have developed a deep bond with each other that makes any indication of their breakage unbearable.
