Even though we were enjoying the 25th anniversary of Bagpipes & Bonfire last night, we couldn’t help but get a glimpse of the Emmys fashion that walked down the red carpet when we got home. Here are a few of our favorite picks:
January Jones stunned in Zac Posen. Miss. Jones is known for taking a few fashion risks, but this time it worked. The dress fits her well and has an elegant, gothic feel to it—perfect for fall. Our only complaint? January was a little too heavy handed with the eye make up.
Jennifer Westfeldt’s J Mendel dress, while simple, had such a gorgeous hue that we could barely keep our eyes off her. The cobalt blue complements Jennifer’s fair complexion, and paired nicely with the ultimate accessory: Jon Hamm.
Leslie Mann gave the neon trend a try in Naeem Kahn and we love it. There were a few attempts at the neon trend on the red carpet last night but Leslie got it right with the citrus orange shade and turquoise accents. The beaded bodice helps tone down the loud color choice.
Michelle Dockery rocked a custom Louis Vuitton frock last night and we couldn’t get over how amazing the simple dress looked on the actress. The color and construction flatter and pair nicely with her bold lip.
Tina Fey knocked it out of the park in Vivienne Westwood last night. The former Evanston resident has had a few misses in the past, but all is forgotten after seeing the comedienne in this form fitting oxblood dress with gold neckline.
Zooey Deschanel sported the ethereal look in Reem Acra last night, and while some are calling the dress “Cinderella-esque” we love the lace detail and delicate bodice on The New Girl. —Kendall McKinven
