The 2013 People’s Choice Award nominees were announced on Nov. 15. Well into a series-transformed fourth season, “Glee” earned an impressive five nominations.
The series is nominated for Favorite Network TV Comedy. Chris Colfer is nominated for Favorite Comedic TV Actor and his co-stars Lea Michele and Jane Lynch are nominated against each other for Favorite Comedic TV Actress.
“Glee” is also nominated in a fun new category, Favorite TV Fan Following for their infamous band of loyal followers known lovingly as Gleeks.
Gleeks are up against the Little Liars for “Pretty Little Liars,” the Oncers for “Once Upon a Time,” the SPN Family for “Supernatural,” and TVDFamily for “The Vampire Diaries” fan bases.
Since its inception, “Glee” has earned a plethora of accolades, awards and nominations. The series won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy in 2010 and Favorite TV Comedy in 2011.
Jane Lynch won the PCA for Favorite TV Comedy Actress in 2011 and Lea Michele won the PCA in the same category in 2012. Chris Colfer was a PCA Favorite TV Actor Comedy nominee in 2012.
While many “Gleeks” were surprised and upset that “Glee” was missed by the 2012 Emmy Awards (except for Dot Marie Jones Outstanding Guest Actress nomination), it won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy in both 2010 and 2011 and was nominated again last year in 2012, but lost to “Modern Family.”
Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch won Golden Globes together in 2011 for Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film at which Chris Colfer delivered an unforgettable acceptance speech.
For the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, “Glee’s” contenders for Favorite Network TV Comedy are: “The Big Bang Theory,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Modern Family,” and “New Girl.”
Chris Colfer’s Favorite Comedic TV Actor fellow nominees are: Jessie Tyler Ferguson and Ty Burrell from “Modern Family,” Jim Parsons from “The Big Bang Theory” and Neil Patrick Harris from “How I Met Your Mother.”
Lea Michele and Jane Lynch are up against these Favorite Comedy TV Actress nominees: Kaley Cuoco from “The Big Bang Theory,” Sofia Vergara from “Modern Family,” and Zooey Deschanel from “New Girl.”
