Seeing Red at the Billboard Music Awards
The fashion which was displayed at the Billboard Music Awards this year has been a buzzing topic. It was not only the colour that symbolized the Red Carpet but even the ladies that took the awards by storm seem to adorn the colour with much ease. Yes! It was a Red filled night while most of the ladies that had made it big in the industry seemed to be displaying catchy gowns. Red was in the Air! There were a range of full length traditional gowns and dresses with many vibrant colours as well.
It was noted that celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Zooey Deschanel played it safe while there were a few others who took some risks in being exceptionally outstanding with their dazzling tastes in fashion.
Other than seeing red, the much talked about artists who flaunted their beauty with the latest fashionable outfits were the ever so gorgeous Carrie Underwood, newcomer Carly Rae Jepsen and the feisty Taylor Swift. Even though Carrie Underwood was dressed in a heather gray and rose tulle Oscar de la Renta while walking the red carpet, her performance dress was only second to her brilliant show that night. The crimson flowery dress was an added detail in her magical performance. The Oscar de la Renta gown was from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection. Underwood truly portrayed her elegant style with her cascading blonde locks while she accessorized her gown with an Oscar de la Renta Cara clutch which was made of pearl and crystal sapphire as well as metallic silver open-toe heels.
Taylor Swift wore a red Chiffon Elie Saab dress which elegantly fitted her. She was one of the best dressed artists of the night while her dress included a lace bodice. With her signature bangs and straight hair, she had added a touch of Neil Lane Jewels.
With a smash hit Number One single on iTunes, ‘Call Me Maybe’, Carly Rae Jepsen was another best dressed celebrity of the night. For her Billboard Music Awards debut appearance, Carly graced the occasion by wearing a nude-hued dress with flutter cap sleeves and delicate folds. With bands perfectly outlining her features her hair was styled straight which suited her perfectly. She also wore a dark burgundy lip colour that is a definite trend in 2012.
Zooey Deschanel was a bit out of her comfort zone and looked pretty is a 60’s inspired look while Katy Perry was seen in a mermaid dress and also highlighting the dark lipstick trend. Alicia Keys looked stunning in a black number while Jordin Sparks displayed a lovely mix of leather and velvet. The fashion that night was indeed eye catching while the celebrities also did justice by flaunting some of the latest trends.
