First, you can watch the original version of six-year-old Susan’s (Natalie) struggle to believe in Santa after her mother (Maureen O’Hara) raised her not to believe in fairytales and then, tune into John Hughes’ version from nearly half a century later. In the remake, Mara Wilson (of “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Matilda” fame) plays Susan while her mom is played by Elizabeth Perkins.

Along the way, he’s challenged to save Christmas and is faced with combating the evildoer Jack Frost (Martin Short).

After Clarence gives Bailey a view of Bedford Falls without him, Bailey realizes how precious his life is and gets a second chance.
