Now it’s December, it’s socially acceptable to watch Christmas movies
YAY! I love Christmas movies. I love them all, no matter how bad or cheesy they are. So I thought I’d share a few of my favourites, the ones I watch every year, without fail. I’d love to hear your comments on what your favourites are, too!
The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is one of my favourite movies of all time, Christmas or not. I watch it year round, I know every line of dialogue, every lyric of every song. I love love love it.
Home Alone. And Home Alone 2. These have always been favourites of my family, and it just doesn’t feel like Christmas until I’ve seen them!
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
The Grinch. I love the animated version of the Dr. Seuss classic, as well as the book, but I also really love the Jim Carrey version.
Love Actually. I’m not normally a Hugh Grant fan, but I adore this movie. And I can’t go past a film with Alan Rickman in it.
The Holiday. This movie is a recent love, I think I only saw it for the first time the year before last, but I adored it! I’m really looking forward to seeing it again this year.
Elf. I’m surprised at how much I love this film, considering I’m not a Will Farrell fan. But he does a great job in this, as does Zooey Deschanel, whom I adore.
The Muppet’s Christmas Carol. Anything to do with the Muppets is awesome, and I’ve been watching this movie every year in December ever since it was released in 1992!
Thomas Kinkade’s Christmas Cottage. Based on a true story. It’s a little too sad for my usual happy Christmas movie diet, but it’s Jared Padalecki, so I can’t not watch it
It is a beautifully done film, and I really do like it a lot.
Honourable Mentions:
The Santa Clause, 1, 2, and 3.
Miracle on 34th St.
The Polar Express.
And pretty much anything they show on TV
Like I said, I love all Christmas movies!
