I am so over Zooey Deschanel. The latest incarnation of the pixie dreamgirl has been supplanted by a new dangerous psychadelia. MGMT is not exactly new, but there was room in my life for their fuck-it-all and for Zooey’s-fuck-me-all. No longer. There is too much duct tape in the world holding cars together and keeping life just unpredictable enough to make me now appreciate the gaps. It is a world not long for Zooeys but instead one where people fuck with the stars and take on models for starter wives. That sounds more fun to me than pining away in front of my TV.
