Did You See the Fashion on Pretty Little Liars? Mona Mania « Any ...

The plot and the clothes keep getting better and better! No complaints from this fan! Let’s not even start with an introductory paragraph, and just get into what we all came here for…the fashion!

LUCY HALECostume designer Mandi Line has said that the character Aria dresses a lot like the teenage version of Line. So Line goes through more painstaking and thoughtful detail on Aria’s ensemble than the rest. It shows, Aria’s character is complete vintage and unique. The clothing pieces that Line puts together for Aria’s character…I would never think of. I love them!

In this scene, Aria’s character is wearing a pleather dress. Am I the only one in love with this shrug?! Trying to find it guys! Also, notice that Aria’s character matches, but it is not obvious. Guys pay attention, this is a great rule. Costume Designer Line finds accessories for Aria’s character that are not exact matches, often using accessories that have a print or an assortment of colors. Picking one color from the ensemble and finding an accessory that has that color along with others in the same color family; so it doesn’t look like you took hours cutting the hem of an outfit and sowing it to make your accessories. Aria’s buttons are dark, her dress is dark, and her belt has dark and light colors in it. See?

JANEL PARRISH, TROIAN BELLISARIO, SHAY MITCHELLMona’s character is trying so hard to look innocent. From her tone of voice to the toes of her feet. It shows in her clothing. Mona’s character may not be a protagonist, but I am definitely for this dress. Perfect for a night out when you want to look like a cute little something. I would totally wear this dress on a date in warm weather.Pairing it the leopard print cardigan with the studded collar was genius.

TROIAN BELLISARIO, BRANDON JONESI saw this blue blazer on Spencer’s character and fell in love with it! It is sometimes so hard for women to look good in business attire or menswear. We, as women, do not want to look like Hillary; you want to be stylish and be taken seriously in a serious setting at the same time. Line has nailed it for Spencer’s character with this blazer. The cuff stops right below the elbow, so the blazer still has a little hip edge to it. It shows of the frame by hugging the waist, and the two jeweled buttons on either flap are a nice touch. This same blazer was also worn on another of my favorite shows, New Girl by Zooey Deschanel.

Cannot wait until next weeks episode! The plot thickens, and so does my love of clothing worn on this show.
