Golden Globes Hair Judgement Day - Julian Hans Salon

The Golden Globes have come and gone (again). Celebrity awards nights are always rife with both fodder for our jealousy and victims of criticism. Feel free to grin with malice at a star not quite making it or squint in rage when they do. It’s okay, we won’t judge you.

Hitching Post

My, there were quite a few ponytails out on awards night! Zooey Deschanel (of course) had a fantastically retro look that didn’t look like your granny’s teenage picture. Really, has there ever been a time when she didn’t just look so cute you wanted to simultaneously copy her look and pen mustaches on her magazine pictures? Nope, there probably hasn’t, but no worries, we’ll just bide our time.

Some of the other celebrities who ponied up successfully were Debra Messing, Julianna Margulies. Both choose slicked ponies with just enough pomp on the top to not make it too severe.

Making Waves

Did we tell you, or did we tell you? Retro waves have washed ashore, and we are so glad. The old Hollywood hair is sexy, classy, and always flattering. And may we just say that Tina Fey has fully allowed the world to finally realize she is drop dead gorgeous (and so is her hair). We also enjoyed Jessica Chastain’s mixture of pushed back hair and retro waves. The hairdo let the world admire her face, yet stare in jealousy at her flowing red locks. In addition, we want to make it known that Rachel Weisz and her wonderful waves will always have a place in our hearts.

Center Stage

Once again, tell us we are not hair gurus. Center parts have been brought back to life by none other than Jessica Chastain, Alyssa Milano, Kate Hudson’s messy center part, and Amanda Seyfried’s romantic tresses. The simplicity does wonders for what can be an overly complicated, intricate, and dizzyingly outfit.

But we do have a little bit of a bone to pick with Kate Hudson and Amanda Seyfried. Not that we are a fashion website, but lets face it, fashion and hair go hand in hand in the all-encompassing world of beauty. That being said: Let it always be a hair and fashion rule that when you wear a dress or blouse with a high, intricate neckline you put your hair in an updo. Both women broke that rule, but they do have a beautiful head of hair. And, their hair looked wonderful on Golden Globes night, so we can’t reprimand them too much for it. Or can we?

Is there anyone we missed, or anyone we should make an example of for next years Golden Globes?
