Alfre Woodard hosted a private dinner at a beautiful Hollywood Hills home to honor iconic actress Diahann Carroll (in Armani), and InStyle had exclusive access to the elegant affair. The girls-only guest list—including honorees Halle Berry, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Kerry Washington (in J. Mendel), and Lorraine Toussaint—celebrated the power of womanhood with the ultimate in Girl Talk, Oprah Winfrey. “I’ve been invited for five years and this is the first time I’ve ever been able to come!” Winfrey (in Donna Karan) told InStyle.com. “It’s such a wonderful gathering. I am just proud that I was asked and after all these years, I’m here. I’m late, but I’m here!” The guests dined on a lobster trio and lamb and sipped on Remy Martin cocktails while they mingled and took in views of downtown Los Angeles through the clear glass panels that made up the dining room floor.
