Movies: “Identity Thief”? Only because Melissa McCarthy makes me laugh. I also want to see “Side Effects,” because it’s supposedly Steven Soderbergh’s last movie for awhile. Television: I think I may have to watch Sunday’s “The Simpsons” episode, titled “Love is a Many-Splintered Thing: Zooey Deschanel guests. And I may catch a few minutes of “The Walking Dead” season premiere during Grammys commercials. Music: When I watch The Grammys on Sunday, I will be rooting for Frank Ocean and Jack White and against Taylor Swift and Mumford & Sons. Books: The rocketing success of “American Sniper” shows once again that death is the best career move. Meanwhile, I’m re-reading “The Great Gatsby” for no reason. Sports: Now that football is over, do I really have to start watching figure skating? Finally: Every time I take a winter vacation from New York to the tropics, there’s a heat wave in New York. Not this year!
