Analyzing Frank Gore's Long-Term Fantasy Value with San ...

If Frank Gore wouldn’t want a chance to start the first half of the San Francisco 49ers’ Sunday Night Football showdown against the Seattle Seahawks over, his fantasy football owners would.

He rushed for just four yards on six carries. That’s 0.7 yards per carry. That’s not efficient football—fantasy or reality.

Granted, Seattle boasted the fourth best defense in the NFL last year in yards surrendered. Gore won’t face a stop unit that was ranked higher in 2013. However, he still only rushed for 44 yards on 2.1 yards a pop against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 (and their defense was just ranked 11th).

Owners who drafted Gore hoping for another 1,200-rushing-yard, eight-touchdown year like he’s recorded the past two shouldn’t get their hopes up. He turned 30 years old this May. His yards per carry average through the first game and a half would suggest that he’s hit the infamous halfback 30-year-old wall.
