Projecting Aaron Rodgers' Week 3 Fantasy Stats After Dismantling ...

Fantasy owners are well aware of what Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is capable of no matter the contest, but his performance against the Washington Redskins in Week 2 likely caught more than a few people by surprise.

Rodgers threw for well over 400 yards—350 of which came before halftime to go with three touchdowns. Those are amazing numbers even for Rodgers, and from a fantasy standpoint it was a quick way to win this week’s matchup.

Just don’t expect it to happen every week.

That’s especially the case for Week 3 when Rodgers and Co. must travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals.

Last week Washington gave up over 200 yards passing to Michael Vick, who also ended up with a rating over 110, so it’s not surprising Rodgers found success against the secondary.

That won’t happen against a stout Cincinnati defensive front that excels at getting to the quarterback. With the offensive line woes on display against Washington, Green Bay is going to have a difficult time protecting Rodgers with Geno Atkins and Co. coming on every play.

History also says not to expect the same output, as the last time Rodgers went over 400 yards passing was Week 4 of the 2011 season against a woeful Dallas Cowboys unit.

Rodgers is still a top-caliber fantasy quarterback, but stiff opposition in the form of the Bengals in Week 3 will prevent him from scoring in the Top 5.

Week 3 Prediction: 275 passing yards, one touchdown.
