SNL's Cecily Strong: Weekend Update Co-Anchor with Seth Meyers!

Saturday Night Live cast member Cecily Strong has just been announced as the new co-anchor for the famous weekly Weekend Update sketch alongside current anchor Seth Meyers!

“Cecily, from the first show, was right there,” producer and SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels told the New York Times. “She exploded.” Cecily was a regular at the Update desk with her hilarious character Girl You Wished You Hadn’t Started a Conversation With at a Party.

Lorne hopes to have Seth stay on with his Weekend Update duties even after he leaves to do the new Late Night show beginning September 24.
