Vintage Outfits to Pair With Your Classic Lingerie | Stockings and ...

Vintage lingerie and loungewear is definitely our specialty, but many women who shop our store love incorporating vintage looks into their everyday style as well. Today on the blog we’re sharing some of our favorite street style looks, based off of some very well loved icons of the past and present.

We’ll start with modern day diva, Dita Von Teese. She’s known for her burlesque shows, iconic vintage hair and makeup, and of course her killer style. Whether it be on the red carpet or the sidewalk, this gal never has a hair out of place, or an outfit that’s anything but perfectly tailored. To get her polished look, go for A-line cut dresses that cinch at the waist and flare out to your knees. She hits the nail on the head with a favorite vintage polka-dot print.

The start of the show Mad Men, which takes place in the 60’s has undoubtedly influenced the fashion industry. As the show gained popularity, so did the styles from that era. In the early seasons especially, the character Betty Draper was the epitome of the perfect housewife with her beauty and style. Her perfectly fitted dresses, sophisticated accessories, and glamorous makeup made her a style icon in the 60’s as well as today.

Zooey Deschanel is another modern day gal with fabulous vintage inspired fashion. Frequently seen wearing collared shirts and dresses, high-waisted styles, and an overall retro vibe, she has perfected the mix of current and past trends.

And of course we would never leave out the iconic Marilyn Monroe. Definitely recognized for pictures wearing bathing suits or pin-up lingerie, you will never forget the classic Marilyn Dress. That’s right, the simple yet flirtatious look she owned and basically had named after herself. But that doesn’t mean she didn’t leave us with a few other favorite looks in addition to that.

So keep it flirtatious, classic, and vintage when it comes to streetwear. After all, there’s no reason not to keep the romance alive all day and all night!
