Paige Ingram is a Ronald E. McNair graduate fellow in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin studying Arabic, Persian, and Turkish and specializing in Islamic Studies and early Islamic history. She seeks to be a Muslim combination of Zooey Deschanel and Cornel West. Paige has virtually no life outside of her studies and only likes to sleep and watch TV shows without an actual TV. Her other hobbies include keeping it real and everything Lupe Fiasco does.
Paige's plans while at UT include language studying and/or research in the MENA region (as long as she doesn't have to pay for it), presenting at academic and religious conferences (which she also won't be paying for), and any other opportunity to get the hell out of Texas (that she doesn't have to pay for).
After graduation, Paige plans to participate in either the CASA or the Fulbright program and work for a major organization aimed at improving the lives of women in the MENA of any variety (i.e. UN Women, UNDP, USAID, etc.). Ultimately, though, Paige will return to school to obtain a PhD in a related field.
