Oxymoron Entertainment Strengthens Film and Television Division

Key-Players, Philip Waley & James Henrie Help Guide Company's Strategic Direction

LOS ANGELES, March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Oxymoron Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based independent motion picture and television production company, announced today that they have strengthened their company's business operations. CEO Christopher Mallick bolsters the company's business development and finance departments by appointing James Henrie as Director of Business Development and Philip Waley as Head of Production; both highly experienced professionals in film and television production.

Having worked for Oxymoron since 2009 on the feature films Middle Men and Columbus Circle, the company proudly promotes Philip Waley as the new Head of Physical Production. Waley is responsible for all production budgets and schedules and is heavily involved in the development stage, script breakdowns, and all stages of production.

Waley has been working in the film and television industry for over 20 years and has worked with major studios such as Lionsgate, Universal, Sony, and 20th Century Fox. Kick-starting his career in Europe, Waley worked as a producer for the Grey Group for nearly a decade. After leaving the Grey Group, Waley co-founded International Production Company (IPC) in 2003, which produced films, television shows, music videos, and commercials. Some of his recent movies include Middle Men, Columbus Circle, Solomon Kane, Jumper,Hostel 1 & 2,The Pink Panther, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and Running Scared. He also produced Dorfman, starring Elliott Gould, which was selected to open the Hollywood Film Festival in 2011 and was awarded 'Best Picture.' In the television industry, he produced the award winning Joan of Ark for the Hallmark Channel, as well as the mini-series The Genius of Mozart for BBC Television. Additionally, he was awarded the coveted Silver Lion at Cannes. As an active member of both DGA and PGA, Waley's wealth of experience in worldwide production makes him a valued addition to the company.

Oxymoron is pleased to bring aboard James Henrie as the Director of Business Development to initiate and coordinate projects from early development through production and distribution. He manages the acquisition of scripts, life rights, books, stories, and other entitlements for feature films and television programming. Ultimately, he is responsible for turning ideas into profitable entertainment projects, as well as sharing the company's vision with prospective clients.

Before joining the team at Oxymoron, Henrie was an executive producer/producer and founding member of Farfalla Films, LLC, responsible for structuring the financing, tax incentive, and production of Farfalla's first feature film project, The Good Life starring Zooey Deschanel, Bill Paxton, Chris Klein, Donald Logue and Mark Webber. The film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize in the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. Furthermore, Henrie was the executive producer/investor of the successful comedy franchise National Lampoon's Dorm Daze, distributed by MGM. Henrie's keen business sense and intimate knowledge of all aspects of film and television production, financing, marketing and distribution, makes him an asset to this company. Henrie is also the father of popular actor David Henrie.
