Lindsay Lohan returned to host Saturday Night Live for a fourth time this weekend, and the results made some wonder whether she'll ever go on to join the exclusive Five-Timers' Club. For an actress who spent the week telling other NBC shows how hosting was part of her professional rehabilitation and an opportunity to get producers to trust her again, she didn't exactly spend much time learning her lines. She had a few funny moments, especially her opening monologue, but it will be interesting to see if viewers adored her as much as the staff at Saturday Night Live seems to.
For our purposes, too, Lohan certainly has her work cut out for her. The competition is fierce, so fierce that Zooey Deschanel is already finished after initially debuting in second place. (Week 2 is always the real test.) Her strong initial support likely fled to newcomer Maya Rudolph, the current frontrunner with 53.5 percent of the vote in the most recent poll. Jimmy Fallon dropped to second with 24.0 percent and Melissa McCarthy took a hit as well, with 16.2 percent. Daniel Radcliffe held on for another week, with 3.3 percent, while Deschanel bid adieu after her support plummeted from 27.0 to 3.0 percent.
Below, I've embedded one clip for each of the five remaining hosts, as reminders of their recent performances. How do you possibly grade them against each other, ignoring guest cameos and fluctuating writing? Your guess is as good as mine. But at the very least, try to be objective and don't reward or penalize a host for their latest movie or TMZ.com photo. It's all about Saturday night. Vote below, and the four top vote-getters will advance to compete against Jonah Hill next week. Ultimately, we'll crown the Saturday Night Liveliest Host at the end of the season. Watch and vote below.
