'NCIS,' 'New Girl,' Fox News are big winners on Super Tuesday ...

"NCIS" had the most viewers on Super Tuesday, "New Girl" had the most young adults, and Fox News Channel was the favorite destination for those seeking election returns.

Fox News handily won the race among cable news channels. But Fox News also edged NBC, which offered an election special. In the 10 p.m. hour, Fox News drew 2.61 million viewers to NBC's 2.56 million, MSNBC's 1.47 million and CNN's 1.46 million.

The cable-news averages for prime time: Fox News with 2.8 million, CNN with 1.5 million and MSNBC with 1.4 million.

In broadcasting, CBS was the top network, even with reruns. CBS had the most viewers in each time slot: "NCIS" with 14.5 million, "NCIS: Los Angeles" with 12.1 million and "Unforgettable" with 8.3 million.

Fox's "New Girl" drew 6 million viewers, but the sitcom scored the night's highest rating with the 18-to-49 age group. "NCIS" was No. 2 in that count.

The averages for total viewers: CBS with 11.6 million, NBC with 4.9 million, ABC with 4.6 million, Fox with 4.5 million and The CW with 1.3 million.

In Orlando, CBS aired the three most-watched programs: "NCIS: with 222,500, "NCIS: Los Angeles" with 180,500 and "Unforgettable" with 121,000.
