Today it's just a quick one regarding a task we were set in the lab. We were asked to find a professional blog post and rate it out of 5. I chose this article about tea on HelloGiggles.com. The site is the birthchild of actress/musician Zooey Deschanel (currently starring in New Girl on Fox US and Channel 4 UK), producer Sophia Rossi (Executive Producer of 5 years for the US reality show 'The Hills') and internet columnist/L.A It-girl Molly Mcaleer (had a successful video post series on Defamer.com). It was launched in June 2011 with the promise of 'lady-friendly comedy'. The girls employ bloggers to write articles, and accept submissions on a wide range of areas (click below to zoom):
I gave this particular post about how to drink tea the traditionally British way, a 5 out of 5. The post not only delivers on the content suggested in the title, but uses references such as the UK Tea Council, Nobel prize winners and citations from the Telegraph website to back up all facts stated, yet the information is presented in an entertaining as well as informative manner. A little science is thrown in to explain when to add the milk to your tea, and finally the author's own opinion laced throughout as a guide to her tea habits, but not necessarily stating everyone should do the same.

I think it is a well balanced post that makes an interesting read. Looks like I'll be spending more time on HelloGiggles.com then!
