I have the pleasure of knowing one of the most beautiful, talented, spiritual, lovely, elegant, unique souls on the planet. Imagine Zooey Deschanel, but not as annoying. I know people say that about their friends, but I am dead serious. Rachel is a one of a kind creature. I love her so much I have more pictures of her up on my walls than anyone else besides my daughter. I used to love it when we would be working together or out and people thought we were sisters, just because she is so gorgeous. We even went as twins for Halloween one year at work. She worked the morning and I worked the night shift. People who came in both times kept asking me why I was there all day. MWAHAHAHA!!! Suckers.
She found this little metal heart at a shop and immediately had to own it.
Anywho. She has one tattoo on her foot that I always thought was so adorable. I asked her to share her story of it so I could share it with the rest of you. Here is what she said.
"My dad died when I was 12. Briefly thereafter, I started drawing… a lot. I kept drawing this symbol.. a heart with angel's wings. It was my interpretation of my father. My mom always said, ' The only things you take when you leave are your relationships'. My dad took a piece of my heart and everyone that knew him. So I see him as a giant heart… flittering around the heavens.
Since I was a weeeee [yes, she actually talks like that] little kid, I've always been extremely cold-natured. My daddy always told me,
'If you keep your feet warm, the rest of your body will follow'.
He's always been right. I got the tattoo on my foot to remind me that even from worlds away, my dad loves me and cares about my well being."
Insert tear here.
Thanks for sharing Rachel. I love you more than coffee.
xoxo
