I Googled this fashion craze of painting one accent nail, the ring finger. It's EVERYWHERE. I have traveled across the country and seen it from the East Coast to the West, 9 colorful digits and 1 art canvas. In opposing colors, jewels, cracked stripes, even fruit but the most popular is glitter. Then I started getting a creative itch to change my regular mani into a work of art and wondered why? Before I jumped on the bandwagon, I wanted to know, what does it mean?

Sold on a ticket to the hype show, I decided to try it. The result was a lopsided feeling to my hand. In jr high I used crafting paint to design cougar paws on my nails for cheerleading. It seemed this desire to use my nails as a statement was still somewhere inside. Maybe I just need to add my own spin, the resurfaced trend with an update. So…I came up with a manicure that reflects the way I am feeling today; a little prim and a little trend. One entire hand at a time.
