Gary Cole gives a controlled portrait of evil in 'An Officer and a Murderer' on Lifetime.

Coming this weekend:

"An Officer and a Murderer," a true story, is a real shocker from Lifetime. Gary Cole plays Col. Russell Williams, a high-ranking officer in Canada's air force. The movie depicts Williams' secret life of breaking into homes and taking women's lingerie. His crimes escalated into assault and murder. Cole offers a controlled and chilling portrait of evil in the film, which debuts at 8 p.m. Saturday.

If you prefer not to be shocked, Hallmark Channel delivers "How To Fall In Love" at 9 p.m. Saturday. Eric Mabius of "Ugly Betty" plays a nerdy accountant transformed into dashing romantic hero with help from a dating coach (Brooke D'Orsay of "Royal Pains"). Kathy Najimy co-stars.

If you want drama Sunday, you'll have many choices. There are new episodes from "Breaking Bad," "True Blood," "The Newsroom," "Drop Dead Diva" and "Army Wives."

If you want reality, Fox rolls out Teen Choice 2012. The hosting duties fall to Demi Lovato, a new judge on "The X Factor," and "Glee" star Kevin McHale. Fox presents the awards at 8 p.m. Sunday. The scheduled performers are Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, No Doubt and DJ Pauly D. The scheduled participants include Miranda Cosgrove, Miley Cyrus, Cat Deeley, Zooey Deschanel, Ellen DeGeneres, Jason Derulo, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Josh Hutcherson, Lea Michele, Dax Shepard, Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift.

"The Bachelorette" ends another season on ABC with a two-hour finale at 8 p.m. Sunday. Everyone reconvenes to discuss what it meant at 10 p.m. Do you care about Emily's choice? The outcome is supposed to be shocking, but isn't that usually what ABC promises?

Another new drama this weekend is USA's "Political Animals" at 10 p.m. Sunday. But you can catch star Sigourney Weaver, who plays the Hillary Clinton-like central character, on "Piers Morgan Tonight" at 9 p.m. Friday on CNN.
