Justin Bieber is bringing his swag to The Simpsons.The 18-year-old Canadian pop star let the news slip on Monday when he tweeted, "just did a voice-over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy." Though the tweet was soon deleted, The Simpsons' executive producer Al Jean confirmed the Justin Bieber appearance to Entertainment Weekly.
"He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won't admit him," Mr. Jean told EW. "Draw your own conclusions."
The episode, entitled "The Fabulous Faker Boy," is set to air in 2013 as part of the series' 24th season.
And yes, the show is older than Mr. Bieber himself... or all of us, for that matter.
Despite being the "swaggiest" Simpsons character since Poochie, Mr. Jean revealed that Mr. Bieber will have a relatively minor role.
"It's a cameo," he told EW, adding that he hopes "Beliebers" won't have a cow when the pint-sized pop star leaves the screen. "All of his fans should watch every minute of the show, before and after he's on."
The Simpsons' 24th season premieres on September 30, 2012 on Fox and Global and is set to feature guest spots from Edward Norton, Steve Carell, Zooey Deschanel, Anne Hathaway, and Natalie Portman as well as the "Believe" star himself.
