Drawing screams from their many female fans, One Direction were a hit as they turned up at the 2012 Do Something Awards in Santa Monica, California on Sunday night (August 19). Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne all hit up the Barker Hangar blue carpet before heading inside to partake in the charity-driven annual VH1 event. Among the nominees, One Direction was in the running for the Do Something Music Artist honors – though the British-Irish boy band lost out to category winner Will.I.Am. As for the ceremony, “New Girl” actress Zooey Deschanel is tending to hosting duties with co-stars Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris with the show set to air on Tuesday, August 21st, 2012 at 9/8c on VH1.
