Uh-huh it’s almost the start of award season again. I know, right? The nominations for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced yesterday. Among the nominees are Anne Hathaway for Best Supporting Actress for Les Misérables who goes up against Nicole Kidman in The Paperboy, who also happens to be nominated for a second award in the television section. Are you still following? Emily Blunt is in the running for a Best Actress Award for her role in Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, together with Jennifer Lawrence for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook.
In TV land, the ladies who are all vying for a gong include Claire Danes (Homeland), Zooey Deschanel (New Girl), Lena Dunham (Girls), Hayden Panettiere (Nashville) and Sofia Vergara (Modern Family). Nominated for Best TV Series (Drama) is Downton Abbey which is in a tough category thanks to Breaking Bad, Homeland and The Newsroom.
