3 Smart Style Lessons We've Learned from February Cover Girl ...

The utterly adorable Zooey Deschanel graces our February cover (download the digital issue here or hit your local news stand to check it out!), which means we're celebrating everything we love about her unique style. Here's what we've learned from her so far...

1. Find a signature silhouette Once you know what works with your figure, shopping becomes much less of a mystery. Zooey zeroed in on the belted fit-and-flare dress a long time ago and continues to wear it all over the red carpet. Why? Because she looks amazing in it!

2. Go ahead, get super-girly Yes, this Monique Lhuillier look is bubbglegum pink, poufy, and has a bow around the midsection. But she's wearing it with such confidence that somehow, it doesn't seem overly saccharine. The same goes for her endless headbands, lace collars, sparkles, and heart-adorned pieces--sometimes, it's nice to remind people that girls just wanna have fun!

3. Let your clothes express exactly who you are Is there any better indicator of Zooey's quirky personality than this cotton ad? Her look says she's super-feminine (lace and bows), a little bit adventurous (those bare legs!), just nerdy enough to keep it real (hello, cardigan), and super-duper sweet (milkmaid braids!). Make your wardrobe work for you the same way, whether you're a wild child, a hippie, or a maneater.
