Hi there, I’m Bridget Daly and you’re watching ClevverMusic. Big music Oscar snubs to report on today! The Oscar nominations were announced this morning and several pop stars failed to make the cut in the Best Original Song category. Of the numerous artists under consideration, only two were picked to compete—Man or Muppet from The Muppets Movie, and Real in Rio from the movie Rio. Lady Gaga, Elton John, Mary J. Blige, Brad Paisley, and Zooey Deschanel are just a few of the artists snubbed because they didn’t score enough points with Academy voters to make the final nomination list.
Mary J Blige already tweeted out her disappointment for her song Living Proof from The Help getting snubbed, saying “I’m so thankful for true fans like you all. It saddens me & feels like the Academy is being mean. 2 only nominate 2 of the 5 slots is…….”
