Samsung gave an update to its smart TV interface, grouping content into five main areas: On TV, Movies, Series, Pictures and Video, Social and Apps.
Each of these categories includes recommendations based on things you've previously used on TV and featured content. On the social side, for example, is the series you are talking, Twitter and Facebook updates, and popular videos from YouTube. The recommendations also include video services like Netflix or Hulu.
This is a lot of information, and perhaps more than we think when we're watching TV. The new interface is an update to that which existed before. It will also be possible to buy an "evolution kit" as called Samsung, to update older TVs. It is a small box that is placed in the back of the TV and lets you work with the new software. It was announced when available.
Additionally, Samsung showed an application of "T-Commerce" or television commerce, which is not an infomercial, but an application that allows you to buy things that have appeared in any film or TV show. In the example given at the conference, was the series New Girl, where one could find out from the app what you are wearing Zooey Deschanel and even find the store where it is sold.
