Zooey Deschanel graces the February 2013 cover of Glamour magazine, looks far more, well, glamorous than “Adorkable.”
The 33-year-old star opens up about how the transition to television with her hit show “New Girl” has given her opportunities she has had in the movie. Deschanel explained that she was a “supporting role,” not an “A-list actor”, as she is comfortable with. Although she can not be on top of Hollywood food chain, it would be hard to deny that her star power rises.
And despite her success, the actress who recently completed his divorce from Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard, says she does not feel pressured to look a certain way, even if she says actress has “definitely gotten thinner in the [her] life. “
“Women I admired growing up Debra Winger, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, were all beautiful and thin but not too thin. There are many actors who are unhealthy-skinny-much too thin,” said she told Glamour.
“I’m a very small person, and if I lost 15 pounds, I would look like them, it’s scary for young girls, what do you have to look at this way to be successful is right you do. ‘. need to see or be anorexic to be successful in Hollywood. committee of what is acceptable is bigger than what people think, “she said. actress and singer also addressed the fact that she has become something of a controversial figure because of her “quirky” and girly style, which has been called self-infantilizing.
“I’m just myself. There is not an ounce of me that thinks some of the crap that they say., we can not be feminine and be feminist and be successful I want to be a f -? King feminist and carry an f -. King Peter Pan collars so f – king what? ” she told the magazine.
