The 40th People’s Choice Awards was held last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The show was hosted by Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings from the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls.
Actress Sandra Bullock was the big winner Wednesday night by winning four of five categories, including Favorite Movie Actress. Bullock joked of her numerous wins, “This looks like I spend lonely Friday nights just voting for myself.”
Singer-actress Jennifer Hudson was presented the People’s Choice Humanitarian Award by LL Cool J for the work she’s done with her charity, the Julian D. King Gift Foundation. She founded the charity with her sister in memory of her nephew that was murdered in 2008. According to its website, The foundation works to provide stability, support and positive experiences for children of all backgrounds and to help enable them to grow to be productive, confident and happy adults.
In movies, Iron Man 3 was the big winner of the night by taking home the awards for Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie. Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake ruled the music portion of the show by winning Favorite Male Artist, Favorite R&B Artist, and Favorite Album. In television, there was no one show that clearly dominated the night.
