Freaks and Geeks and Party Down actor Martin Starr recently signed up to appear on New Girl. He will play an old friend of Nick (Jake Johnson), who arrives in New York following a bad break-up with his fiancée.
Jeanne Tripplehorn will also appear in two upcoming episodes and Dermot Mulroney recently signed up to play a love interest for Zooey Deschanel's Jess on the sitcom.
