Even if they don't feel up to the role, celebrities are role models for large groups of people. People idolize them because of their beauty and their work. Sadly, not a lot of stars are involved with keeping up their "role model" images. Given that they didn't ask to be looked up on, but with what they earn and the fame, there is power with that and like what Spider-Man's uncle used to say, with great power comes great responsibility.

These stars should take their obligations seriously. Considering that a mere janitor has a responsibility to clean whatever it is that needs cleaning, stars also need to be accountable for the people who are paying them. In a way, regular folks pay for the wages of these stars because the people support their products.

I am in awe of stars like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio who give back to the people who love them through their foundations. Not only that, they're also giving back to the world for being environmentally conscious. Because the stars do it, the regular people are enticed to do it as well.

It's a bit like fashion, when stars begin a trend, the regular folks follow. But the common folks do so in their means or in a more cost-effective fashion. If stars prance around in their Louis Vuittons, regular women take the knock-off or a similar looking handbag.

It's the same when stars are responsible for preserving the planet. There are plenty of folks who have become vegetarians just because Kirsten Dunst and Zooey Deschanel are vegetarians. It doesn't help that these stars are stick-thin, too, and a lot of women wish to be slim.

When DiCaprio and former US Vice President Al Gore talked about saving the planet, home-bound people wanted to do their share for the environment as well.

One easy step in safe guarding the planet is keeping wastes at a minimum. Eco-friendly wastes are good in making fertilizers. For those who have a little extra space in the garden, make a small pit for storing and degrading biodegradable materials. Just mix this with leaves that you put through in a leaf mulcher. A leaf mulcher makes leaves into fine pieces that are perfect for making fertilizers.

There is also a leaf mulcher available that can grind bigger pieces, not just leaves. It is alternatively called a shredder-chipper. It can make biodegradable items finer and more eligible for the compost pit. You can grind the leaves and naturally degradable products together in the leaf mulcher for easy blending.
