Fox's new "adorkable comedy" "New Girl" is only mid way through its first season and has already build up an impressive audience.
The show stars Hollywood's quirkiest girl Zooey Deschanel ("Yes Man," "500 Days of Summer") as the main character, Jess. In the pilot we are introduced to Jess who finds her long-time boyfriend cheating on her. She immediately moves in with three guys, who are almost equally quirky. Jake Johnson stars as Nick Miller, the cranky bartender who will probably end up being a love interest for Jess. Max Greenfield is cast as Schmidt, the so-called "douch-bag" of the roommates. Lamorne Morris plays Winston Bishop, the third roommate who returns after years of playing basketball in Latvia.
It's a seemingly unlikely plot that actually falls together wonderfully, tanks to the talented cast, although there are times that Deshanels "I'm so zany and cute, look at me" act gets a little old the hilarious plots in each episode make it worth it.
So why bother watching it? Given the idea that three guys just let some random girl move in with them is a bit of a stretch, especially when they are initially annoyed with this girl. But who watches a sitcom for reality? People are drawn to this show for the fun geeky girl and the adorably dorky guys who get into all sorts of crazy shenanigans.
