A recap of my (oh so) interesting life as of late:

1. Spring Break spent in Austin, TX was wonderful. I got to see my best friend who moved there last May (who I hadn't seen since then). I want to go back soon, possibly for my 21st birthday. There are tons of vegan/vegetarian restaurants, and the healthy lifestyle there appeals to me (in contrast to Oklahoma). Want. Want. Want.

2. I added a Plan C to my list of possibilities after graduation: getting teacher's certification in English. Plan A = Ph.D. program for English. Plan B = M.F.A. program for Creative Writing.

3. Um, I'm studying in Vichy, France for a month this summer! Eeeeek! It still hasn't really hit me yet, but I'm so excited. This will be my first time out of the country (and on a plane--weird, I know). I'll admit, I'd feel more comfortable studying in Spain since I know Spanish so well and only have one semester of French under my belt, but I'm really drawn to France as well. I'll also get some travel time after the program with a certain special someone who knows France very well. :) :)

4. I cut off all of my hair... So on the Friday night of Spring Break, I wanted to add layers to my hair. After watching various YouTube videos, I thought I had it down (I mean, that is how I learned how to cut my own Zooey Deschanel bangs anyway), but I failed. Tremendously. I took off six inches rather than two. I'll admit it, I cried. The next day, I scheduled an appointment to get a REAL haircut for the first time in years. The hairdresser (love her!) suggested that I would look good with really short hair, and I had been thinking about chopping it all off eventually (not so soon, course). I took the plunge, wanting to see how I'd look with short hair after losing 50 pounds since the last time I had super-short hair in high school. I mean, I'd destroyed the lovely locks I'd been growing for the past three years... So she took another two to four inches off in various layers. It's different and fun (I'm told it makes me look older, score!), but I do miss my long, pretty hair at times. (Okay, a lot.)

Other than these things, I've just been stressing out about the future and such. I spent Easter with my family back home, so that was very pleasant (though I hadn't been to church in a year, oops...). I'm glad that it's Friday, and I'm glad that I'm alive. :)
